One of my frustrations about being on Dublin City Council was that I had to sit through lenghty discussions of double yellow lines in Clontarf, which quite frankly didn't interest me.

Strategic regional stuff should be dealt with by the Metro-Council, the smaller stuff at a local scaleCiaránhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12013998074728053786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11965515.post-31912580948253233342012-03-07T14:23:47.641+00:002012-03-07T14:23:47.641+00:00Nice piece, and as an interaction designer working...Nice piece, and as an interaction designer working abroad I'm delighted with the work being done by Pivot, but couldn't make it to Filmbase.

I agree with most of what you say here but how will TEN councils make for a "more coherent" voice? Is there not enough in-fighting between councils as is? Would ten councils mean more councillors? That's the last thing we need, surely?

I though you were on the right track when you said Dublin was "badly" divided but then you seem suggest more division? Most of the positive initiatives happening these days (Pivot, Dublinked etc.) involve dissolving the historical divides between the councils.John Lynchhttp://www.john-lynch.orgnoreply@blogger.com
